Martin Richard Attlee, 2nd Earl Attlee (10 August 1927 – 27 July 1991) was a British politician, son of former British Prime Minister Clement Attlee, the first Earl Attlee.[1] Martin inherited the title on his father's death in 1967. Originally sitting on the Labour benches, as his father had done, Attlee defected to the SDP in 1982.
He served in the Merchant Navy between 1945 and 1950.
